Writing Challenge Update

I am unsure what day it is in the challenge, and I am unsure how many posts I have written, but I am beginning to feel that I am hitting a wall. I think I am halfway through, but I am running out of things to write about. Right now, I am not writing to focus on GrandValli. I am just writing whatever comes to mind to build the habit, but man, it's tough.

As a kid, I wrote a lot. I wrote poetry, song lyrics, and I even wrote a whole movie script by hand in multiple different notebooks. Sometimes I question where that gift went.

The other day, I asked ChatGPT to write a blog post for me based on a "conversation," and after a few tweaks, I posted it. After a short time, though, I had to delete it and start again. I felt that using ChatGPT to write for me was cheating. Using AI to correct grammar and spelling is one thing, but to use it to participate and write for me in the challenge of my own creation did not make me feel that I was acting with integrity. It has opened my eyes, though, to see how easy it can be to sacrifice our own thinking and writing abilities to an artificial thing in the name of ease.

Perhaps the struggle and not knowing what to write is what more of us need to build something that can be better enhanced by AI but not replaced. It may be beneficial for our mental space to not outsource so readily basic things that we can take the time and discomfort to work through ourselves, especially mentally.
