A Never-ending Footwear Problem

I love sneakers. I have loved footwear since I was a kid. There was something about playing basketball and sports and cleaning my shoes at a young age that fused sneakers and footwear into my DNA. Now, my relationship with sneakers and footwear has had its ups and downs, and even now, I could say that we are in the middle. I still have my curiosities and stay current just enough for work, but truthfully, I don't know as much as I should or even know all the Jordans by silhouette alone quite yet, which I could remedy pretty easily.
Here is my thing, though: all I can seem to think about is what do I do with the shoes I no longer want or when I am done with them. I get so excited, and I always think this shoe would be cool or the next one too, and I should get a new pair. I have a never-ending footwear problem.
Then I think of all the other pairs I have, and then I think, what am I supposed to do with them?
I know I can give some shoes away and donate them to Goodwill or something, but why?
If I already wear my shoes to the point where they are worn out, what benefit would they serve to give to someone else?
Now, don't get me wrong, I know that there are people out there who could use shoes, and they don't care if they have been worn if they really need a pair, but wouldn't I be passing my decision or conundrum to someone else?
I mean, I think that is what many people and businesses do. We take old shoes or unsold shoes and give them away in the name of charity, again, this is not the problem, delaying the inevitable waste that we create: the mounds of shoes that end up in landfills and mile-tall piles of waste that sit all over the globe. Now, I may be the minority who thinks about this, but there has to be a better way, and perhaps over the next few weeks, out of fun and to humor myself, we may explore this. There has to be a way to do things differently.
