In our second episode of the of The GrandValli Experience Podcast, we sat down with someone who's quietly but powerfully carving his own lane in the music world - Felix aka" Falling Castles", a DJ, music producer, and creator who embodies the spirit of the underdog.

At first glance, Felix might tell you he's "more of a programmer" than a traditional musician. With no formal background in music theory or instruments, he built his craft from scratch, learning how to beats and music from pure passion and experimentation. With several years of creating music behind him, he continues to fall in love and challenge himself and what he knows.

During our conversation, Felix opened up about:

  • The moment he fell in love with music: His first live show experience at Red Rocks was a catalyst that pushed him to buy FL Studio and dive headfirst into producing.

  • The emotions behind his work: Whether it's sadness, reflection, or revival, Felix uses music as an outlet to express what words can't. He is more connected to his emotions than you would think if you met him. But that connection helps him to create his unique sound. His sound is deeply emotional, with a clear influence from artists like Illenium and the melodic side of electronic music.

  • The battle with self-doubt: Like many artists, Felix admitted he often questions if he's on the right path — but staying connected to his 'why' and removing ego from collaboration has kept him grounded and moving forward.

  • His clothing brand, UNDERDAWG: His clothing brand is an extension of who he his and his goal to encourage and uplift. As the name suggests, his brand is meant for all the underdogs.

Felix also touched on his newest project, We Are Risen — a Christian-influenced music collaboration that focuses on deeper emotional storytelling, without losing the universal appeal that anyone can connect to, regardless of their background.

There are a lot of great takeaways from this conversation.

As Grand Junction grows, Felix sees incredible potential for the local music scene to become more vibrant and interconnected. His dream? To continue producing, supporting other musicians, and one day creating full environments around his shows — think plants, atmospheres, and music that hits you in both the head and the heart.
