One Thing We All Must Do

I believe we must all never quit, never give up, and never bow out. With the life we are given, we must keep going and keep striving and trying. This is something I have to remind myself more often than I can even admit. However, today I realized that it doesn’t have to be something that I have to force on myself. Sometimes we can allow other people to spur us on if we just take a second to be open and present.
Today, for example, I was struggling a little bit. I was in silence to remove distractions, but I couldn’t think of what I needed to do or wanted to do. It was triggering a sad and down moment for me. However, I planned to see a great friend of mine that afternoon, and as I started to get ready, my mood started shifting. After spending some time together, I realized on my way home that I was overcome with how much love I had for my friend, and I was smiling without realizing it. I didn’t even remember how I felt earlier.
I’m learning more and more that we can’t always think our way to better or force our way to better on our own. Instead, if we open up and just let go, we can smoothly find ourselves in a better spot than where we began. It can be burdensome to feel and think that we have to consistently move ourselves through phases. We have to force and push and pull and drag. Sometimes I like to think we can be like water and just flow and allow the natural current of things to move us to where we want to be.
